meet our dance coach alanna vann!
Alanna is a Federal way, Washington native where she grew up participating in every sport that she possibly could! Although she was always active in a surplus of sports, her passion for Dance began to supersede all as she continued dancing. Her career as a Dancer began at Illahee Middle School in the 5th grade, where she joined the Dance Team. As her love for Dance expanded each and every season, so did her Teaching, Coaching, and Choreographing career. The remaining years of her Middle School and High School experience she began choreographing fun routines for her teams. Alanna loved the creative artistry behind choreographing so much that when she went to college at the University of Montana she began teaching and choreographing for the Roots Acro Sports Center Competitive Dance program and became the Director of Dance and Lead Choreographer. Her mission as a Dance Director was to build a program that is accommodating and supportive of every dancer’s strengths and weaknesses. Providing content that encourages social and emotional development, and growth in dance technique. As she found success in accomplishing her mission as a Director of Dance, as well as success in choreographing, she was excited to bring back her new grown skill set to her true home in Federal Way and share her passion of dance with the youth.
As a leader of the youth in the Dance Community today, Alanna's mission is to positively encourage the growth of mind, body, and spirit through the expression of Dance. Her goal is to inspire young dancers to utilize Dance as a positive foundational activity that challenges their physical abilities, express emotions and feelings through beautiful artistry, and provide a space where dancers with various backgrounds and life experiences can come together and uplift, encourage, and support one another. She looks forward to continuing to inspire the youth and sharing the love of dance!
